Async x Mona Partnership
- Mona is an open metaverse platform. Async and Mona partnered to onboard more creators and collectors to the metaverse, starting with the Blueprints launch artists: XCOPY and Coldie
- These metaverses became new channels for the artists to engage their communities, and an extension of their brands
- Our launch drove the most traffic Monaverse had seen to date, and subsequent events drew ~1300+ attendees
strategy + actions
-
Pitched XCOPY and Coldie on creating their own metaverse spaces in Mona and they agreed to explore
-
Introduced the artists to Mona who connected the artists with Mona builders (Fun fact: this is how NeonGlitch86 and XCOPY met, who would later go on to form the VORTEX duo. Two years later, VORTEX released MUTATIO which hit a historical 1,000,000+ mints on Base).
-
I gave input in the ideation and build update sessions, main output was two metaverse spaces: "Grifters Bar" for XCOPY and "DEyes Mashup Gallery" for Coldie.
-
Below are video flythroughs of the spaces, or experience them yourself here:

Determined a marketing strategy + plan with Mona and the artists. Drove Async's marketing team to execute on the campaign which included: cross-channel social posts, a joint X Space, a blog announcement, and events in each metaverse. Full details of the partnership in this blog post.
-
With this campaign, we drove the most metaverse traffic Mona had seen to date
-
Planned an IRL activation event with Superchief Gallery during NFT LA, where attendees got to meet Coldie, experience the two metaverse spaces in virtual reality (VR), and get some swag.
-
I spoke about the partnership on Mona's panel "How to Make Living Art" during their NFT.NYC 2022 event
-
These metaverse spaces continued to help the artists engage their communities:
-
Coldie leveraged the DEyes Mashup Gallery for the launch of his DEyes Legends VRM collection
-
XCOPY hosted the Grifters Anniversary party at the Grifters Bar featuring a live DJ set from Eclectic Method
-
-
Mona also built Async a Music Blueprints Club metaverse space, where we hosted a launch event with a live DJ set from Maelstrom and a dance party
-
We leveraged the Music Blueprints Club for subsequent launches like HiFi Labs x Text Me Records x Ricky Lake's generative album listening party
-
I also connected the Cult of Crypto Art (CoCA) - a collective of crypto artists and collectors - to Mona which resulted in the building of the Cult Temple. The Temple is the home of CoCA, where they host events and exhibit the works of members such as Sarah Zucker, Trevor Jones, XCOPY, Carlos Marcial, and others
